Toronto
Communication coaching & training for Toronto.
Public speaking, presentations, media interviews and team training with Earl Sky — in person across the city or online.
Vocal Power is a Toronto practice, and Earl Sky has spent more than 30 years using his voice to earn a living.
He worked as a broadcast journalist with CBC Radio and City TV, and you have likely heard him as the announcer on national and international television and radio commercials. He has taught in the broadcasting and public speaking programs at Humber College, and he is a guest lecturer at the Schulich School of Business at York University.
That experience now goes into coaching Toronto professionals, executives and teams who have to speak well when it actually counts — the client pitch, the board update, the conference panel, the interview request that arrives with two hours' notice. Sessions run one-to-one, on-site with your team, or over Zoom.
Everything starts with a free consultation, so we can talk about what you are preparing for before you commit to anything.

Choose what you need
Six ways Toronto clients work with Earl.
Most people arrive knowing the problem rather than the program name. Here is the short version of each one.
Corporate training
Training for a team or department, built around the presentations, briefings and meetings your people already run. On-site, virtual or hybrid.
Personal coaching
Private one-to-one sessions booked an hour at a time, in person in the Toronto area or over Zoom. Nobody else in the room.
Media training
Preparation for interviews, podcasts, panels and camera appearances — from a coach who spent his career asking the questions.
Public speaking
The broad skill set: nerves, projection, diction, eye contact, body language, and speaking without hiding behind a script.
Presentation skills
Structure, delivery and audience attention for the presentation that is already sitting in your calendar.
Teen program
Ages 12 to 18, in small groups with video feedback, for classroom presentations and the confidence that follows them into adulthood.
How it is delivered
Three ways sessions happen in the city.
At your office
Earl can come to you for private training and workshops. For one-to-one work we usually ask for a meeting room rather than your own office — the interruptions are what ruin a session.
Online
Full sessions over Zoom, available anywhere. If your presentations and interviews happen on video anyway, this is the more honest rehearsal.
Workshops and events
Group workshops and lunch-and-learn sessions for organizations, plus MC work for events throughout the Toronto area.
Corporate programs are delivered on-site, virtually or as a hybrid, and personal coaching is available in person in the Toronto area or virtually. If you are outside the city, the corporate communication training page covers how team engagements are scoped.

What people bring us
Nobody books coaching in the abstract.
They book it because something specific is coming. These are the situations Toronto clients arrive with most often.
- A client pitch or RFP presentation where the decision gets made in the room
- A board or leadership update that has to be short, clear and credible
- A conference talk or panel in front of people in your industry
- A media interview, podcast or camera appearance
- An all-hands or town hall where the whole company is listening
- An interview for the role you have been working toward
“Earl Sky provides very useful and comprehensive ideas to achieve your public speaking goals. He interacts extremely well with the audience and is very knowledgeable. Very good use of time.”
